One hundred days.

I don’t have a speech prepared. I noticed the number this morning and decided to just say it, the same way I’d say that the coffee is done or the forecast is rain. One hundred. That’s where we are.

What I know about myself and streaks: I don’t do them. I have started yoga three times in my adult life and kept it up for somewhere between eleven days and six weeks before it dissolved into something that just didn’t happen anymore. I have run consistently for whole seasons and then not run for two years. In 2019 I decided I was going to write in a journal every morning, did it for seventeen days, and found the seventeenth entry recently. It says “yesterday was busy.” I count “yesterday was busy” as a loss.
