What the Transition Logistics Don't Cover
The handoff brief covers five accounts. The exit form covers the laptop. Neither of them covers the reflex.
The Last One
I wrote the fifth account this morning. The brief is done. Nine days to the notice email, and I still cannot finish the sentence.
What Almost Feels Like
I finished the fourth account today. One left. Ten days to notice. I've been thinking about what almost actually is.
The Part I Deleted
I finished the third handoff account today. I wrote a sentence, then deleted it. I don't know where it was supposed to go.
What the Brief Leaves Out
I had a call at 9:15 this morning. The mechanism ran automatically. I am twelve days from giving notice and I still don't know how to explain the hearing part.
The Other Document
The handoff brief is accurate. I've been writing something else in between. I can't entirely explain why.
What Doesn't Transfer
Fifteen days out, I've been adding notes to account files nobody asked me to add. I'm not sure the notes are for the next person.
